Punching Machine User Check-Up 1 1. Air Good NG Adjust Replace Reinvest Make sure the setting pressure is set to 0.57MPa (5.7kgf/cm2). If the pressure drops while using, reserver tank is necessary. Setting of the regulator Confirm the setting of the air pressure. Make sure the pressure doesn’t drop while using. Adjust the drop volume every 5 index-pin operations to 1 drop with the knob next to the observation window (check from the drop volume observation-window). Make sure water and compressor oil aren’t collected. Moisture induces rust and compressor oil affects the packing. The value changes while pressing. Confirm the ram position of the PHNC (LCD). Belt replacement and tension adjustment is necessary. This affects to the press stop position. Confirm the belt sound of starting. Check with eyes when actually processing. Make sure the pointer is stopped in the proper position (12 o’clock position). In winter, confirm the variation. Variation appears if unspecified oil is used. When the variation gap is big, replace the guide key. When the “saw blade of follow-up punching” or “scuff of tool” occurred, put a tooling (with good level) and confirm the variation of the rotating direction. Make sure the tooling rises smoothly by pushing down the tooling head with a square log. Confirm the lubrication (check with eyes). Extra grease causes the strip miss and auto-index malfunction (rotates continuously at the origin return). Check the cleaning condition of the grease on the turret. Turret chain adjustment and gearbox check are necessary. Set the index pin SW to “ON” with the manual mode, and check the swinging (to the right and left) of turret. When foreign material is adhering to the index pin bushing, shot pin is unable to remove or scuffing of tooling occurs. Check the adhering of foreign material to the index pin bushing. Check with eyes. The grinding allowance of conventional standard tooling is 2mm. When using exceeding this, punch head might interfere in striker. Check the stretching of the punch height in the use of exceeding the grinding allowance of punch. Confirm if the punch is rising. Especially when the upper and lower crossing punch is done, it has to be confirmed. Replace when breakage or crack happened. Damage of the side plate and buckling-mark of the flange block the normal insertion of the Die into the Die holder. Check the damage on the Die insertion part side and the buckling mark by punch slug of the flange. Check with eyes. Loosening and rising of the small diameter damage the parts of the cover and auto index at turret rotation. Rising of the ½ Die spacer. Around the Lower Turret (2) Index pin insertion Index pin bushing Good NG Adjust Replace Reinvest Check with eyes. If the turret swings a lot, it may become emergency stop. Turret chain adjustment and gearbox check are necessary. Set the index pin SW to “ON” with the manual mode, and confirm the swinging (to the right and left) of turret. When foreign material is adhering to the index pin bushing, shot pin is unable to remove or scuffing of tooling occurs. Check the adhering of foreign material to the index pin bushing. Determine the shim volume so that the Die height becomes 30mm. The shoulder edge after the grinding causes back flaw of the product. Wipe off the sharp edge with a paper. Check: rising of the Die, shim volume of the Die after grinding, processing condition of the shoulder edge after grinding. At the hydraulic clamp confirm the remaining oil amount of the pneumatic & hydraulic pump under the rear table. Also check the air in line. (The sound doesn’t stop easily.) Make sure it is fixed tight and doesn't move. Check the looseness of the clamp lever. Push the clamp to the crosswise direction and make sure it doesn’t slip. Check with eyes. Check if there is punch mark, transformation, breakage, and variation on the clamper, clamp plate, and clamp base (general term of the ASSY of these components is Clamp Base ASSY). In the Y-axis, check the oil level when the motor side is at the gearbox. Check the grease condition, screw, rail damage, and moving sound of the ball screw and LM guide. (Check with eyes.) Wipe off the grease on the ball screw and LM guide, and check the damage. Then supply oil. In the X-axis, check the tension when it is timing belt drive. Check the grease condition, screw, rail damage, and moving sound of the ball screw and LM guide. (Check with eyes.) X-axis ball screw / LM guide Check Part Detail Standard/Action 9 7. Hydraulic Unit (PEGA/COMA/ARIES) Pressure gauge Filter for heat pipe Good NG Adjust Replace Reinvest Normally the upper gauge is 60kgf/cm2 and the lower gauge is 2~3kgf/cm2. Confirm the fluctuation of a punch is 5~10kgf/cm2 and it doesn’t fall below it. If it falls below, there may be lack of accumulator gas. When the filter is clogged, remove it and clean up with an air gun. Clean the radiator unit in the same way. Check the clogging of the filter (air conditioner net) of the radiator unit on the backside of the fan. It may be rotating with the breeze around if checking only with eyes; make sure it is rotating without fail. If it isn’t rotating, “Oil Temperature Rise” alarm occurs in summer. Check the fan rotation. Confirm that material or etc isn’t set against the unit. Fan Check Part Detail Standard/Action 10 7. Make sure the squeeze pump and coolant FAN is operating without a problem. Also check the water leakage by the piping aging. Confirm the cooling device operates normally during the operation. In summer, the oil temperature must be 50 degree or less. The “Oil Temperature Rise” alarm occurs when it reaches 60 degree. Check the remaining amount by the oil level gauge, and make sure it isn’t dirty. Also confirm the oil temperature during the operation. Normally the main gauge is 205kgf/cm2 and the pilot side is 140kgf/cm2. Confirm the fluctuation of a punch is 5~10kgf/cm2 and it doesn’t fall below it. If it falls below, there may be lack of accumulator gas. Check the indication of the pressure gauge in the Normal and Operation conditions. Pressure gauge Check Part Detail Standard/Action 11 8. Supply the specified grease oil according to the lubrication plate. Good NG Adjust Replace Reinvest Result Confirm that it stops without alarm after the pump runs certain time by pressing the lubrication button. Use the Nipple of the lower part when applying grease. Applying from the upper part will be the cause of air mixture. Remove air. (Use the plug for removing air.) Although the machine doesn’t stop, replacement is necessary. Sometimes it becomes an alarm. Check the operation of the fan installed to the NC and Electrical Box. Replace the backup battery once a year. The parameter necessary for the machine operation and customer’s program are maintained. Replace while the power is turned on.
